Admission
Requirements
* 'Service to every
child' is the guiding principle of the Bainbridge-Solon Montessori
School.
In keeping with the Montessori precepts, this school seeks to
help children develop their individual potential for living and learning to the
fullest - eventually to become independent and interdependent citizens of the world. In
observation of the school's highest educational mission, children
are respected for their natural developmental capacities to learn - at their own pace - in
synchrony with their individual biological/psychological clocks of time.
Hence, we neither look to stereotype, nor to label children under
adult-oriented norms and standards, but rather, we help each and every child to receive
within his own capacity to absorb and assimilate.
* Applications for
admission are always welcome subject to availability of vacancies.
* In keeping with the
Montessori principles, student enrollment takes place on a continual
basis throughout the year - based on children's needs - during the
months of September, January, March and June.
* Unlike conventional
schools, our
philosophy does not bring to bear selection processes that are
exclusionary.
* The admissions process
is initiated with a scheduled visit on the part of the prospective
parent/s (unaccompanied by child/ren). This opportunity provides a clear
vision and overview of the Montessori philosophy including the
educational purpose of Bainbridge - Solon Montessori School.
The parents are
simultaneously treated with an informative on-site tour of the
facilities and the children at work. The concerns and curiosities of
prospective parents are automatically addressed during this visit.
Any remaining queries are then answered to parents' satisfaction.
Thereafter, it is
customary for prospective children to attend a half or full day session
on a mutually convenient date. This procedure affords the child/ren and
the school community an opportunity to develop a rapport with each other
in a relaxed atmosphere.
* Pursuant upon the
decision of the parents to have their child/ren enrolled in our school
at a particular time during the year,
* Contingent upon the
availability of vacancies at that time, the enrollment of a child takes
place upon the completion and filing
of an application form,
which is subsequently processed. Parents are thereby informed
with a
letter of confirmation and acceptance.
Following the above
steps, a child's
registration in our school will be confirmed with the submission of additional items indicated in the checklist of the

Early Admission
Montessori Program
|
|
Ø |
The
early admission Montessori program is a fine opportunity for children in
their tender beginnings to be inculcated with the holistic values of the
Montessori ‘lived and
learned’ experience. It
has been designed to cater to the psychological characteristics of the
biological phase of 0-3 years, thereby providing the sound exposure of the
Montessori
Way
to children less than three years of age.
Essentially, it takes into consideration the unconscious,
absorbent, factual, sensorial nature of the child in his/her quest to
become a member of his/her society and immediate surroundings.
Hence, our Montessori Prepared Environment strives to nurture the nature of the child
of this biological phase.
|
|
Ø |
It
is suggested that children who do join this program attend school on
two, three or four consecutive days on a two or three hourly basis
– contingent upon parental choice and/or child-oriented sensitivities.
This is in keeping with the
Montessori principle that continuity and repetition, without interruption is the key to a
child’s unconscious absorption and assimilation of knowledge. |
|
Ø |
The
above arrangement may be changed to a five-day program anytime if and
when the child demonstrates the need for more intellectual as well as
physical stimulation.
|
|
Ø |
This
program, nevertheless, is open to parents of children under three years
of age who opt to send their children for five days per week. In
this case, the tuition schedule followed will be in keeping with regular
school registration procedures.
|
|
Ø |
All
in all, it is important to note that our Montessori Prepared Environment
will comprise of children between 16 months and 5+ years of age with no
physical or psychological demarcations. All
children of this age group will be well integrated as a little community
of ‘giving and taking’ individuals.
|
|
Ø |
The
early admission program advocates school enrollment throughout the
academic year in observation of the Montessori principle that revolves
around the child:
“help me to help myself grow to understand my
world
when I’m ready”.

Information
on Tuition and Fees |
|
The
proper choice of an educational provider is crucial to a child's
well-being. True success in a child's academic career
and future may be determined only by the quality of life and
learning lived every step of the way - quite contrary to all other
selection processes.
Hence,
in synchrony with our school's aforementioned child oriented
vision, prospective parents will be treated to a packet of
administrative information (including tuition and fees) at the
culmination of an onsite personalized tour and overview of the
school, during a scheduled visitation.
Your
understanding and cooperation in this regard will be
appreciated. Please call our administrative office at (440)
543-9135 to set up your appointment. |
